Hello, A friend may be ready to start her PHD in Education. Wondering what colleges give special consideration for that status. Thanks. HIlle

  2. Does it need to be a Ph.D? Liberty U. has a few benefits but they offer an Ed.D.

If she is near a military base that has satellite school campuses, often times those types of schools give military discounts to spouses. Depending on the branch of military there are some decent schools to be found on base. I would start at the base education center, they are very helpful and you'd be surprised at the number of scholarships and help out there for military spouses, especially if the spouse is active duty. There is something called MyCAA, it a benefit for spouses and essentially provides money for spouse education in portable career fields (nursing, teaching, etc.) but I am not sure if it covers PhD's.
