any info on New York VTA awards?

    Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has used the VTA awards for tuition assistance? I am no longer eligible for the GI Bill, but seems since I serverd during the persion gulf, I am elegible for this.

Anyone have more information and what it truly covers?

    Thanks

I can't answer that question, but as a veteran, many schools will also give you a discount. See

I also found this web site http://www.hesc.com/content.nsf/SFC/...Tuition_Awards

Veterans Tuition Awards (VTA) are awards for full-time study and part-time study for eligible veterans matriculated at an undergraduate or graduate degree-granting institution or in an approved vocational training program in New York State.

NOTE: Students previously approved for this award must apply for payment each year. Those students who are attending an approved undergraduate or graduate program may apply for payment for the current academic year by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at Home - FAFSA on the Web-Federal Student Aid and then linking to the TAP on the Web application from FAFSA confirmation page by clicking on NY State residents link.
