I am considering taking the Ashworth College Masters of Criminal Justice degree. From the discussions I have had with people in the military, that as long as you receive a degree that is either regionally or nationally accredited, that there would be no problem in this being considered with respect to the military respecting and accepting the degree. Is this true? Has anyone had any experiences with this? I think that the price for this degree is very good and the fact that it is nationally accredited will make it at least somewhat respectable. Does anyone have any information also on how there nationally accredited graduate degree was received in military circles or in the employment arena i.e. NA Masters degree? Has anyone else given the Ashworth College Master degree consideration or decided to enroll? Thanks for your input in regards to this matter.

    Philosophy,

It sounds like you want to be a JAG. I am currently in the U.S Marine Corps as Assistance Legal Admin Chief. It depends what branch of the military you are trying to get in. Most of them accept national, but I think Air Force needs Regional. If you are currently civilian, check with a recruiter of the service that you want to get in. If you are currently in the service, check with your education officer or Education Center Staffs.

It is strange that PCDI (Ashworth College) offering Master degree.

    Philosophy,

do a search on NA degrees. There was a post where someone quoted the Air Force policy that now accepted NA or RA. In the civilian federal government NA or RA is acceptable so long as the accreditor is recognized By the US Dept of Education. Since you are asking about masters level your bachelors degree plays a role also.

    Tekman,

I see it is now an RSU. I was in 1st (and 3rd Recon) and for a period of time we had the wonderful quonset huts as our "quarters". (we got kicked around from several other sites first) I sure hope things have stepped up since those days. As an aside, 4th Recon was just activated.

I am always amazed at the fortitude of younger folks willing to take up the Corps as an occupation. Good luck in your career.
