Hi everybody. dont know how i landed here but here i am, with greeting to one and all in this forum. I was searching to confirm if a B. Tech (real estate) degree from Unisa in South Africa is equivalent to an Honours level degree. Can anybody be kind enough to help or confirm, as i have been searching the web and came to this site and gave it a go. The reason is to confirm if I can apply for a Masters course. Having sprinted through the website I can understand why you haven't been able to form a clear opinion. One the one hand, the BTRS is a 4 year degree. On the other hand, typically you would expect the sequence would be BTech = 3 years and then BTech(Hons) = 4 years. Clearly this is not the case here. So, I'm going to give you my favorite answer. It depends. And in this case I'm think that it will depend on who is doing the assessment of equivalency. If you're hoping that the BTech is equivalent to an Honors degree for the purpose of applying to grad school then each school will make their own determination according to whatever system they use. If I were you I'd just go ahead and apply.
Apply; the worst that can happen is that they'll say no and you're out the application fee. Even if they do say no, you can always ask for an exemption.
Yes. Another possibility is that IF the BTech is not quite up to their requirements, they can offer a conditional admission, giving you the opportunity to take the required course(s) before formal admission into the program.
