    Cool Ta-Da ... it's Hammergirl!

Since I've posted a few times I thought I'd give a bit more background on who I am ...

I came to this site looking for some expertise on finding a DL doctorate program in leadership and, by jove, I think I've got it!

I live in Canada and well, our education sector for higher learning is a LOT more straightforward. Every university is credible, with some having a better reputation than others. Not so in the U.S. where the majority of DL doctorate programs are!

So as to my ed background ... I have BA in Humanities '92 from McMaster University, followed by a General MBA '01 also from Mac, followed by an M.Ed. '10 from Brock University. I did all of these part-time and I've gotta say I really like school!

I think I have a profound intellectual curiosity which is why I started thinking about doing a doctorate. Well to be honest I was thinking about another Masters degree and my boss said "a Masters? I thought you'd be looking at a doctorate!" And so the search began.

I'm starting my application for Indiana Tech in their PhD in Global Leadership which looks really cool. It's not a "true" DL it has a 3 day residency per year ... but heck 3 days I can do!

    Cheers all!

Welcome, fellow Canadian :) It's unfortunate how few DL degrees are offered in Canada isn't it? Maybe there should be a new thread started to list available programs ... the two schools that immediately come to mind are

Athabasca - Programs : Athabasca University

Memorial - Distance Education and Learning Technologies | Programs Offered Online

One being relatively cheap, the other not so much :D
In progress: MA, Wycliffe College, U of Toronto
MTS, Tyndale University College & Seminary
    BA, University of Guelph
Certs: Online Instruction (CMich), Apologetics (BIOLA), CompTIA A+

Best of luck with your plan. Please let us know how you progress. BTW, I enjoyed the "My Fair Lady" reference.

Like maple syrup…..slowly oozing into our nation…..

I’m just playing around, on a different note I love me some Sponge Bob SP. I have two boys and we watch it all the time when they get home. Surprisingly it has a ton of adult’s only jokes my kids never understand.

“Dumb old texas”……lolzzzz I think NOT!
