    Hi!

Been lurking a couple of weeks (since I decided it was time to finish a degree) so I thought I'd introduce myself.

About ten years ago, I left Excelsior 3 credits short of a BA. Credits were B&M and distance ed with one exam (GRE History). At the time, I was broke and unemployed and scrambling so I just left. (Actually, I just didn't pay the the annual fee).

I recently injured myself at work and decided it was time to trade in physical labor for mental. I decided I'd like to go into counseling or clinical social work--and that means grad school. In retrospect, it seems not getting the degree done was short-sighted at best.

So I plan to complete a degree with Excelsior, add or update some requirements for grad school, and (perhaps) finish a major in Psychology.

I appreciate all the information and motivation I've already gleaned from DegreeInfo and I hope I'll be able to contribute as well.

    Ian,
Thanks--I need 3 UL arts and sciences but not in a specific discipline. Since I have 30 hours for the history GRE, I should avoid anything that would be regarded as duplicate credit. Since I am seriously considering adding a psychology major, I just plan to start with one of the UL Excelsior College Exam UL psychology, specifically Psych of Adulthood and Aging.

From this TESC website http://catalog.tesc.edu/content.php?catoid=1&navoid=9 it looks like upper division credit is given for the following DANTES/DSST exams:

REL-405-DE Introduction to World Religions (3)
    ECO-332-DE Money and Banking (3)
    PSY-361-DE Organizational Behavior (3)
    SOS-305-DE Substance Abuse (3)
Plus UD credit for several DSST history and business exams.

So maybe Excelsior has similar acceptance policy
