Hello, this is Byron. I just registered for the first time, but I have been gleaning plans from degreeinfo for several years. I wanted to finally say thank you to everyone here. I am a second career registered nurse in the Birmingham, AL, area. My AAS in Nursing was the first degree I completed despite multiple traditional classroom attempts. Thanks to what I learned here I completed my BSN at Thomas Edison State College (now TESU) through CLEP, classes, and credit banking. I then applied to the graduate program at Troy University here in AL and was accepted on my first try. I will be graduating from Troy's MSN program in May 2018 with a family nurse practitioner specialty. It is thanks to the knowledgable individuals here at degreeinfo that I have been able to achieve these goals. You have helped me achieve my goals even without knowing it. Thank you all, and God bless.

Stating the obvious....I'm new here. Thank you to the person(s) that started this forum. It appears to be a great resource, but a little overwhelming to me thus far. I'll post a question here as well as I begin my search, but first a little background. I'm 26 years into my current profession, but have not completed my degree. I was given 27 hours of PLA from my current university, and achieved another 33 in an accelerated program. However, that program was cancelled and now they want me to complete the online traditional program, at a significant cost. I needed only 60 hours for my last promotion, but need to complete my BA/BS for my next promotion, or if I decide to start a 2nd career I want to have my full degree. Most of the threads I've read so far are focused on those with no hours. What would be the best course of action for someone in my predicament? I need the degree to be accredited, but the Major does not matter. I'm looking for the fastest way, I'm not as concerned about cost since I have some savings set aside. NOT to say I'm loaded, just that speed is more important. Thoughts?

Hello everyone I am new here and I have to say this is probably the most informative site I have ever found regarding online learning. A little bit of background about myself: I am currently 21 years old and employed as a correctional officer for the great state of West Virginia. My primary goal is to become a police officer and eventually a West Virginia State Trooper. I have attended three different colleges in West Virginia so far and have not did as well as I wanted. I attended Glenville State College when I was in high school for English 101 and later went on to Concord University where I amassed approximately eighty credits toward a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology . However, throughout my attendance at Concord University I decided that it wasn't really for me and I began to attend West Virginia State University for criminal justice . Unfortunately I have also found that I don't think West Virginia State is really for me either due to strict transfer rules. Overall I have completed about ninety credits, however as of now I have found that I really do not have time for college due to my long hours at work. (What's a day off?) However, in the next few months I am very interesting in finding a regionally accredited degree program that is online that will take all of my credits so I can finally get my bachelor's degree. I have high hopes of completing a Master's and doctoral degree online as well in the next few years. Overall I have been a longtime lurker on this site that has been trying to find the best college for me to complete my bachelor's at in the near future.

    Welcome aboard!
XVI.8: Confucius said, "There are three things of which the superior man stand in awe. He stands in awe of the ordinances of Heaven. He stands in awe of great men. He stands in awe of the words of the sages. The mean man does not know the ordinances of Heaven, and consequently does not stand in awe of them. He is disrespectful to great men. He makes sport of the words of the sages."
