Hmmm. OK, this outfit is accredited by Malta. A fair bit about their past, as an unaccredited, Cantonally Licensed Swiss School, here on DI. They say "no tuition, no upfront payment." Does that mean there's maybe a back-end payment, based on your income after graduation? They don't say. There's GOTTA be some hook, here.

I'm not really that curious, though. For the record, their Executive MBA costs 9,900 euro. I'm thinking, somehow or other, they get around the same amount for this "no tuition" deal. Guess I'll never know. G'night. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

First rule of MBA - There is no free lunch (except maybe Quantic U.)
Second Rule of MBA - If in doubt, refer to Rule 1.

Hook? Of course. These guys offered a free assoc. Degree in 2014 and after I enrolled out of morbid curiosity, they asked for money. I trust them as far as I can throw an elephant... But maybe someone wants to check if they improved since then?!

Not me. Somebody else. I've had 16-17 years of that grief here and over at DegreeDiscussion. You sleuth all night to determine facts about the school - then some wonk tells you you're full of it. Had enough.
@Mac Juli - Du bist dran, Mac. (Your turn.)

Well, not exactly their past, depending on who you mean by "their". The same people are behind both, but the institution in Switzerland is organizationally distinct from the one in Malta.

I'm reminded of the University of the People, who will tell anyone who will listen that they're "tuition free!" but they charge for the exam you have to pass to get credit. It's a bit like trumpeting how you don't have to pay to get on the turnpike a lot more loudly than how you mention the toll required to exit it.

Organizationally - that's the key word. To me: one "outfit," consisting of, I think, three organizational bodies. SMC Business School, SMC University and SMC Education Group - run largely by the same people. They scratch each other's backs. More united than separate, methinks. I view the entire enterprise as a purpose-built, interlocking machine.

And any time I see alliances, cross-validations, triple awards etc. with a rather rough-hewn set of Mexican, Costa Rican and Nicaraguan universities ( @SteveFoerster I'll spare you the acronym that got you so upset last time) that offer somewhat specious degrees to foreigners offshore that they have no authority to award at home - that's a giant red flag. I see that, I perk up my horns and I'm off and running at Pamplona! :)

You may have guessed that I flat do not like this outfit - and their every word makes me suspicious. You'd be right. :)

It does. Looks like somebody may have written some AI prompts - telling the AI to seek the most basic principles of NLP and write examples (without mentioning NLP by name) of use in business situations and language. Oh yes - and press the "salesmanship" and "flair" buttons. Click, done. Upload to site.

    "And you can, too!" :)

From a biblio. on the site: "Jones, M., (2011) Creative Accounting, Fraud and International Accounting Scandals."
Wow! We can learn to do all THAT? For FREE? Luxembourg is a cool place!

I can put on my "International Accounting Sandals," head for the beach and cook up a zillion-Euro caper on my laptop! :)

Getting back to language learning for a hot minute, the other day I found Language List which lists a boat load of tools, and the usual pinnacles are there like Anki, but I found Language Transfer on there, and I'll be a cat's uncle, it's good! Hosted on SoundCloud and also has regular MP3's available, I started learning Italian because I like in an Italian area of town and wow, it's good! It uses what I already know in English to learn Italian. Very interesting approach. They do ask for a bit of a hand-out, but realistically that's it, no pay-to-play there. Quite pleased with myself for finding that one.
