Don't know, I've never thought about in that way. There's nothing inferior about Pidgin languages in my opinion, and as far as Nigerian Pidgin is concerned, it's an English-based Pidgin with grammar and vocabulary advanced enough to talk about pretty much anything. And, Pidgin languages don't necessarily have their origins in a colonial context: Russenorsk is one example.
