When I try to go to General Distance Learning Discussions, I get a message that says "This website has been reported as unsafe."
No sarcasm intended, but it literally means exactly what it says Whether by your browser (especially if you're using Chrome) or you have a security add-on, the warning ONLY means that someone, somewhere has reported to them that the site is unsafe. By analogy, consider what happens when a post is reported on this site. Someone clicking on the report button doesn't mean that there is actually a problem with the original post, it's only being reported as problematic and we, the mods, then have to go sort out what is going on. In kind, that someone has reported this site as unsafe doesn't mean that there is actually a security threat, only that it has been reported as such by someone, somewhere, for whatever reason they thought to do it and the big companies that put these security measures in place either don't bother or don't have the resources to check the validity of the claim. Why does this happen to degreeinfo? Trolls, most likely. There should be a way for you to whitelist this site- that is, to make this site an exception to your regular security checks- so that you never see the message again.
By the way, Ted, I think this thread might be useful for the other members to see. Would you consider moving it to the main forum?
