Hi, Are there any online universities that offer an accelerated program in engineering? Preferably, petroleum, mechanichal, or applied technology?
There are very few Bachelor degrees in Engineering disciplines offered through distance learning. You can check out the ones offered by the U of North Dakota, U Cal-Riverside and Arizona State.
I can't find any U Cal Riverside BS in Engineering program online. Indiana State offers an online BS in Engineering Tech Eastern New Mexico offers an online EE degree U of Alabama offers a BS in Mechanical Engineering with 3 residency classes
Yes, OK. I was referring to this (the 1st post in the thread) http://www.degreeinfo.com/general-distance-learning-discussions/50253-new-engineerings-degrees.html
Accelerated? I don't know about that. But TESC has a few engineering programs including the BSAST Degree in Electronic Systems Engineering Technology. PennFoster still has a few engineering courses that are ACE recommended. So that's a fairly cheap possibility to pick up some credits. Not accelerated but self-paced. You can also use the UND math courses (self-paced) or maybe ALEKS to fly through some of the math and science requirements. If you have any related licenses or certifications you might be able to score some credits there as well. Absolute worst case scenario, you could just take the coursework through TESC. It might not be the best (though certainly not the worst) value (depending upon your payment plan) but you're trying to get a degree that is frequently just not offered online.
