Hello everybody, I have a 2-year diploma in IT and I want to continue my studies to get a Bachelor degree in the same field. Do you suggest any accredited and affordable university? Thank you in advance for your help
A BA in Information Technology? It's more likely to have the degree title of BBA in Information Technology or BS in Information Technology.
That's true. But they'll be of the same utility, the difference between BA and BS is more aesthetic than meaningful.
Do you know of any schools that offer the title of Bachelor of Arts in Information Technology? I think they'd be relatively rare.
Northern Arizona University offers both a BA and a BS in Computer Information Technology (CIT). Not sure how far off or different that would be from just plain "Information Technology". They are also competency based.
Who even offers a B.Phil., much less a B.Phil. in IT? The only B.Phil. I know of is offered by some Catholic seminary in Ohio and it is designed for prospective M.Div. students who didn't have enough philosophy credits in their undergrad degrees.
At Charter Oak, the distinction between a BS and a BA is how many Liberal Arts credits are earned. So it's possible to earn a BA with a concentration in Information Systems Studies. But that's the only example I can think of offhand.
I'm not familiar with BAs in Information Technology, but a BA in computer science is not unheard of. Does it even matter? I think the OP was just using BA as a generic term for a bachelor's degree. Some people aren't familiar with the nuances of the American educational system. All of this talk about degree titles, and no one tried to answer the OP's question. OP: Do you want something in the U.S., Europe, or somewhere else? Does it matter? Does national vs regional accreditation matter? Will you be depending on financial aid?
*just for kicks* Found out Uni of Western Aus offered a B Phil for IT/Computer Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours): Future Students Northwestern U's continuing department offers B Phil for most of their degrees. Undergraduate Degree Requirements, Northwestern University School of Professional Studies *just useless info to share* - note that none of them are online. lol.
