Hello everyone, It's been a couple of years since I've used this forum. In that time, I've relocated to vietnam, where I'm teaching in a K-12 school. Here's my dilemma: the work permit requirements here now state that I have to have an education related degree. So, when I go to renew my permit in a couple of years, I have to have an education degree. I will be using FA since it is impossible to use credit cards/send money here. So, I need a school that provides free text books with their online master of education degrees. The only school I've found so far with this is Concordia, but the admissions person has been so slow and unresponsive. Any help would be appreciated.
Western Governors University provides free online textbooks for their programs. They have several online education masters degrees. Some of the degrees require a valid teaching license BUT some do not and require only a bachelors degree from a regionally accredited university. They also accept standard financial aid.
It's been a while, but when I did my MSEd at Walden the textbooks were included in tuition. You may want to check them out. -Matt
Will you be able to get the excess financial aid back in order to purchase textbooks? The bonus I've learned from attending traditional schools is that I can get a refund check or a deposit in my bank account before the semester starts. I can then use that money to buy textbooks or other required materials.
Also take into consideration that you can get the international version online (from Ebay), which is a lot cheaper and has the same material. I actually order international version of my text when possible (unless it's a text that has required software as a bundle. Best of luck with your search.
