Hello everyone. I have been a long time lurker but I am not much of a poster. How is Saint Leo University? I am interested in the DBA program. It appears that they are RA and have IACBE. I am interested in them for a couple reasons. First I have a friend who attended as an undergraduate there and had good things to say about the school. Second, the curriculum looks good for the actual DBA program. It requires 3 residences which is going to be a pain for me as I am currently living in Brunei. Thanks in advance for any input. Eric
I live about an hour from St Leo and they are well respected in the Tampa Bay area. They have a lot of competition in this area with the University of South Florida and the University of Tampa, both are AACSB.
St. Leo got into distance learning early, and I don't remember hearing anything bad about them in all that time. Out of curiosity, how much is the total cost of the DBA program?
If it looks good to you, it probably is. These things are pretty transparent these days. Good luck with your studies.
They don't publish their DBA tuition rate. If it's the same as their MBA rate, then the total tuition is about $45,000. Not the most expensive out there, but not great, IMO. And it's unlikely actually to be that low.
Too expensive for a non-AACSB school. Liberty and Wilmington are about half that amount. I'm sure they will still have people lining up to pay it, though.
While my reaction is that it's insanely expensive, AV8R's probably right that people will still go for it.
There are all kinds of reasons to pursue a particular degree besides the costs. We often hear from people who, while decrying the expense of this degree or that, aren't themselves pursuing a comparable one at a less-expensive school. But those who are pursuing a degree don't seem to dwell on the costs so much. Hmmmm......
Well, when I was an active student I did worry about the costs, and made decisions about where to apply and enroll that considered them.
I thought Grenoble DBA was expensive. Comparing to St Leo DBA, .. Grenoble (AACSB DBA) makes much more sense. I would consider Grenoble in the future.
Of course costs are a concern while enrolled. That's not what I said. Being concerned about it and dwelling on it (and posting about it) are different things. I think, bang-for-buck, one of those $5K master's degrees from a DETC-accredited school can't be beat. That would seem to have the most life-changing potential for the money.
I think St Leo is competing in Tampa with Argosy University. Argosy is also in Tampa and costs $57k for its DBA. Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) | Argosy University Online Programs
Perhaps. Hopefully they'll make completion easier for their DBA students than I've heard Argosy makes it for theirs.
