Would it be ok if I mentioned a brand of fitness equipment that I find to be really high quality? I ordered a gym quality bar dip set up and find it to be high quality at a reasonble price. I am thinking it would not be cool to list the company website, but if I gave out the brand, me fellow forum members could benefit (at least the ones who work out) and look up the website if the so desire. Let me know ok? Thanks guys and gals/gal! Abner
I personally don't have a problem with it....I kind of doubt that you registered as a member almost 8 years ago, and made over 4,000 quality posts solely to set yourself up to shill for some gym equipment company.
Thanks Bruce! Here is what I ordered. The quality is excellent, and it ultra heavy duty. It will mount into wood studs, or masonary as well. Dip Bar The have other good options for pull up bars, etc. See ya, gotta start getting ready for work tomorrow. Abner aka Abs
In a few years, I will finally reveal my intentions to shill my preferred company. I'm a member of a shilling sleeper cell.
My plan from the beginning was to find a way to become a moderator so that when I started my own CLEP preparation service, I could edit scores of old posts by inserting links in them. In fact, half of all the spammers I have banned were actually myself doing test runs via a nigerian proxy server. I feel entirely comfortable revealing this because I know that none of you will think I'm being serious. It may even push suspicion even further away from me :lol:
Gee, thanks Ted, that means a lot coming from you, an icon in his own right. Same goes for Bruce as well. Thanks, Abner
Abner, I'm pleasantly surprised to see it's made of aluminum (probably TIG welded, not cast). What size screws are you using to mount it to the wall?
5/8 x 3inch lag screws. I am putting screws in all eight holes, rather than the required 4. I figure stronger is better. The quality of this thing is really impressive, very heavy duty. The other products look good as well. For the quality, the prices are reasonable. Abner
Whether I confirm or deny, there will still be a little part of you that wonders if I was being serious
Industrial aluminum!!!!! Some advertising hype here -- most aluminum is industrial from 1000 series (really weak but good electrical conductor) to 7000 series (really strong and used for aerospace applications). If there is no protection on the hand holds I suggest wrapping them with bicycle handlebar tape or tennis racket tape.
The hand holds came heavily wrapped in black tennis racket tape. Perfect for gripping. They paid attention to every single detail. I may order a pull up bar from them later, and mount it to the garage rafters. I am really impressed with this company. Plus, they shipped my bar dip unit for free, and it got to my in 2 days! See ya, Abner
