The best exercise is the exercise that one will do. Walking a couple miles per day won't make one an olympic athlete, but is great for helping control weight and providing some healthful exercise. Calisthenics are free. No gym to join, no equipment to buy (unless you really want to). The best food is the food for which one can pronounce the ingredients.
Hi Anastazia, Some health tips for good health and fitness: Do exercise or yoga regularly, Have a balanced diet, Drink plenty of water, Try new exercises to avoid routine exercises, Stay close to people who motivates you, Create a healthy environment around you, Quit smoking and alcohol, Avoid stress and depression.
Just so people know, both of our new friends Brucel and Anastazia were coming to us from Lahore, Pakistan. It's one of the favorite spammer locations. Working together their plan (like others before them) was to spam the site. However, you have to get up very early in the Punjab to put one over on MC. Nice grab Maniac.
I have to say, Brucel was pretty clever by making some innocuous posts before coming with the spam. Seems like a huge waste of time, but maybe there's nothing else to do in Pakistan.
The good news is, I really do like the topics of these threads. My personal health tip is to wake up early in the morning and workout before you do just about anything else. You may be surprised how much more energy you have throughout the day and how easy it is to slip into a good sleep pattern with regular exercise. Ehem... not that tonight is a good example of me following a good sleep pattern
Thanks! I made it using Paint. You can see that it is just a couple of simple shapes- took me less than 10 minutes to put together.
I run 42-45 miles a week. Yes, it is a major destresser. I have been running for over 30 years and with all that is going on in my life, it does help.
Congratulations. I realized a few weeks ago that mid-August marked 20 years of running for me. 25-30 weeks is the norm and I agree that it is a major destresser.
My... goodness... I thought I was a Maniac on my jogs (8 miles each) but I only do it about 3 times per week.
Yep, I ran in high school and college. It is just an extension of me now. Usually the runs are 7 miles at a 7:30 pace.
My tips are: - Steer away from processed foods and get back to only basics. - Only eat whole grain foods (pasta & bread, but don't eat these items alot) - Kick up your protein intake. It will keep you fuller longer - Try and eat healthy snacks throughout the day to kick up your metabolism - Drink a lot of water with a few slices of lemon - Exercise at least 3 times a week
1.Balance your food choices over time. Not every food has to be "perfect." When eating a food high in fat, salt or sugar, select other foods that are low in these ingredients. If you miss out on any food group one day, make up for it the next. Your food choices over several days should fit together into a healthy pattern. 2. Know your diet pitfalls. To improve your eating habits, you first have to know what's wrong with them. Write down everything you eat for three days. Then check your list according to the rest of these tips. Do you add a lot of butter, creamy sauces or salad dressings? Rather than eliminating these foods, just cut back your portions. Are you getting enough fruits and vegetables? If not, you may be missing out on vital nutrients. 3. Make changes gradually. Just as there are no "superfoods" or easy answers to a healthy diet, don't expect to totally revamp your eating habits overnight. Changing too much, too fast can get in the way of success. Begin to remedy excesses or deficiencies with modest changes that can add up to positive, lifelong eating habits. For instance, if you don't like the taste of skim milk, try low-fat. Eventually you may find you like skim, too. 4. Remember, foods are not good or bad. Select foods based on your total eating patterns, not whether any individual food is "good" or "bad." Don't feel guilty if you love foods such as apple pie, potato chips, candy bars or ice cream. Eat them in moderation, and choose other foods to provide the balance and variety that are vital to good health.
Cross only at corners. Don't run red lights. "Moderate" consumption of bacon. Margarine is almost as good as butter. If you have to take medicine then PLEASE know the potential side effects. Don't automatically trust health professionals (especially surgeons - they always get all stabby) Don't forget the basic food groups: chips, ice cream, chocolate, white chocolate, ice cream.
Don't eat any meat or processed food Eat only natural food and mostly raw Excercise 3-4 times a week for 30-40 minutes Drink lots of water
early to bed, early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise i'm not certain that anyone has ever concocted a similar phase for women
At the end of the day- when fatigue fells you dead- first make me a sandwich, then you may go to bed. :slaphappy: Misogyny is the best policy. __
