So the great Aspen University finally makes changes to the university website. Finally looks like an actual university website rather than a cut and paste job... Upgrades are always good!!!!
Meh. It still looks like a website from an online school... I realize that this is the case, but why do they have to be so obvious about it? Can we get away from the stupid stock photography with a model (very doubtful they are students) wearing a cap and gown? How many B&M school websites do this? Yes, there are some B&M schools with poorly designed sites, but why is it that nearly every online-only school has a crappy site?! The Walden and APU/AMU sites are pretty good, but they are definitely the exception. Okay, end of rant. I do commend Aspen for trying to improve their site. I just think someone needs to tell these DETC schools to hire better web designers and usability experts.
I was *going* to put a joke in here about the amount of all caps text on the website. vBulletin "fixed that for me". So, no joke for you.
Isn't that the star-fleet academy logo? I'm serious, if it isn't its pretty close.. http://s3.amazonaws.com/Aspen/aspen_blue/images/aspen-logo.png
Well Star-fleet did have to start somewhere. They are now the first outer-space based DL school. Now they need that Space Studies program that APUS has and they will be all set...
It's listed under "certificates" and costs $2500 so, I'm guessing no ... there's really not much information about it on their site tho.
Also the Alumni site seems to be gone...well it is there if you can figure out some legacy links but the scripts have to be manipulated to access....
Not to knock Aspen, but there are lots of RA schools offering "mini-MBA" programs. These would be worth considering if you can afford them.
Aspen page sez: "Upon completion of the certificate program, students receive a graduate certificate in strategic management." So - it's a PG cert, I guess. Sounds fair enough. Johann
