Hello all I'm just wondering if any of you have been mind boggled with the ALEKS assessments. I'm completing Statistics and found it fairly easy and only scored a 34% my first time around, so I went to my master account and immediately requested another assessment and scored a 46%. I also felt like I got all of the answer right on that one too. About an hour after that, I went back and requested a 3rd assessment (in the same day) and scored a 46% AGAIN! It's killing me. I know I'm getting these all right--or at least 90%++ of them. Am I doing something wrong? Should I just keep asking for new assessments until I hit the 70% mark? I'm not using the pie to study because I already know this stuff, so I just keep requesting new assessments. Please help!
That's weird. Sorry to hear that. Since you keep getting the same score, maybe you should study a little beforehand. If you already know the stuff pretty much, the study should come easy for you. You might have a few concepts mixed up. Here is a really good website that has videos on all of the basic stat stuff. I use this site myself from time to time: Khan Academy I'm currently in a doctoral level statistics class. So I feel your pain!
Odd question from Determined.... very similar to all the odd/weird posts in Instantcert by Viper/Thor/cherry/imaginarycollegestudent7/ and other names. She/he was "banned from forum".
Good catch GoodYellowDogs , yes she is Mind boggled but I don't think Aleks had anything to do with it.
I know the stuff but it doesn't allow my score to go up, so I'm wondering if you're forced to do the slices in the pie for it to test you on that stuff? I just keep reassessing because I already know it and don't want to bother wasting time. I'm glad I only need one statistics course. It's giving me a heart attack! lol
Sorry, don't know what else to say about it. I can only see three possibilities: 1. The ALEKS tests are faulty. 2. You don't know the material as well as you think. 3. Space aliens are sneaking in and changing your scores. At this point, I'm thinking that option #3 is the most likely. Don't you just hate stats?
