I need 6 humanities, A&I is out because it duplicates AP Lit at Excelsior. I'm open to suggestion and positive vibes, have been dreading this moment for years. I hope this plan is not ill-fated. I await your thoughts with baited breath. Please consider that memorizing factoids is my weak link.
For CLEP it looks like you are left with: American Lit English Lit French, German, or Spanish Humanities DSST has humanities tests: Art of the Western World Intro to World Religions (I suspect this may be a relatively easy exam) There are other courses listed as humanities by DSST but I'm not sure that EC will accept them as such.
The only two that I have any confidence in are American and English Lit; however, now I'm paranoid about duplication with my AP English Lit class. I bet they all count as the same thing! I would be starting nearly from scratch for the "humanities" test. (And thanks for moving the thread Maniac)
I thought parts of the DANTES religion test were quite difficult http://forums.degreeinfo.com/distance-learning-discussions/34874-ace-reviewed-religion-courses.html#post339774 too many names in Hindu, Buddhist and Sikh were too similar for me
Hey B4, do you have any info on religion courses that are ACE approved because I'm totally down with that idea. I'm religious and find the topic of the highest interest. Thanks everybody for your input! I think I would have problems with a world religion exam if specific names of specific deities are part of the exam. Thanks so much for your help everybody. I'm getting so close.
I took the CLEP Humanities exam (6 credits) "cold" (no studying at all), and passed. Not by much, but I did pass, so I think a modest amount of preparation would give you a very good shot at passing.
For prep, I recommend the COMEX book ($15.25 at Amazon.com) and possibly Instantcert ($20 for a month).
Ohne Zweifel, sollten Sie die deutsche Prüfung! ETA: Oh yeah, & Humanities is not as overwhelming as it looks!! If you felt like you were strong in Eng & Am Lit, then Humanities just requires a basic review of other art forms & you'll be golden. A lot of people take it w/ only Lit knowledge & pass.
