Ah yes, the remake of Red Dawn. I have the original in my Netflix queue to watch again before the remake comes out. The major difference in the remake is that the US is invaded by China, instead of the Soviet Union as in the original.
Don't say that he's hypocritical, Just say that he's apolitical. "Once the rockets are up, who cares where they come down. That's not my department," says Wernher von Brown. Some have harsh words for this man of renown But some think our attitude should be one of gratitude Like the widows and cripples in old London town Who owe their large pensions to Wernher von Braun You too may be a big hero, once you've learned to count backwards to zero. "In German and English, I know how to count down, Und I'm learning Chinese," says Wernher von Braun --Tom Lehrer, more than 50 years ago (Listen at http://tinyurl.com/yeyrsxv )
I wonder whether they'll have it be the PLA that does the invading, or whether the story has China hire an army of repo men when the U.S. can't pay the interest on its national debt any more.... -=Steve=-
If they buy it, then I guess they own it. It's interesting that movies like this kind of reflect national anxieties. And the US is definitely anxious about China. Whole domestic industries are shrinking into final oblivion while more and more Americans try to make their big-bucks careers in 'management' (telling workers what to do while their jobs are being off-shored) or in 'trade and commerce' (buying and reselling what foreigners actually produce). It's not sustainable, long-term. There are storm clouds gathering on the horizon, that's for sure. I guess that movies like this express contemporary fears in time-tested cold-war imagery.
Let them invade I ,for one, would likely support our new leadership. Come on compared to what we have now it might be an improvement. Looks to be a good movie but please don't post FAKE trailers, if there are none then no links.
I think China does not need to invade USA, just need to buy everything up with the bonds issued by the USA govt. Bloodless and neat.
