I'm considering 2 Masters degrees. At first I considered 2 MBA's with different concentrations. Now, I'm considering I/O psych. Does anyone know of a school offering a DL MA in I/O (Industrial/Org Psychoogy) and a DL MBA (preferably in Entrepreneurship, Marketing or HR). I am going to get the GMAT done soon, but I don't want to have to take the GRE as well (to apply for the MA in I/O psych). Hoping to be admitted into an MBA program first, then go for an MA in I/O without having to re-apply or take the GRE (thus to stay at the same university) Any ideas?
CSU (Colorado State University) offers a very well regarded MAIOP (Master of Applied Industrial/Organizational Psychology) as well as an AACSB accredited MBA. Both programs are available via distance learning. CSU even offers a GMAT waiver option for their MBA!
Interesting, I have been considering this path as well. I have one more class to go and Comps and then I'll complete my MBA through American Military University. Colorado State has an excellent program, but is too expensive for me. I have also looked at Northcentral's program in I/O Psych There are a few more programs out there, but these I have only had a cursory search and not looked to deeply at the programs. Kansas State Austin Peay *Edited* Looks like the K-State program requires a little on-campus time, so not totally online. Good luck in your search.
The following link will take you to a search engine for looking up I/O Psych programs. There are a number of DL programs. The source is The Society for I/O Psychology, Inc.: http://www.siop.org/gtp/GtpLookup.asp
American Intercontinental University www.aiuonline.edu offers an MBA in Organizational Psychology & Development. Some university in Kansas (I'm thinking Emporia State? www.emporia.edu) offers an MS in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. University of the Rockies www.rockies.edu offers an MA in Psychology with concentration in Industrioal and Organizational Psychology. I'm thinking there's a uni in one of the Dakotas offering an online MA in Organizational Psychology.
The University of Phoenix www.phoenix.edu offers a PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology with an MA in passing. You might ask whether you're allowed to do a separate MA in Industrial/Organizational Psychology.
Is APA accreditation needed? Is APA accreditation needed? 1- Is it true that if I wish to take an MS in I/O Psych with the intention of going to a PhD in I/O Psych that the MS must be APA accredited? 2- Is it true that if I wish to become a tenured faculty member at a state university (in the US) I would need to have a PhD in I/O Psych that must be APA accredited?
Thanks a lot, I came across this site in the past and forgot all about it. I looked at their job listings and at tenured and asst professor positions, only one mentioned the word 'accreditation' but none of them mentioned APA accreditation. I'm trying to figure if APA accreditation is needed if one wishes to go for a PhD program with the intent of pursuing a tenured faculty position teaching I/O psych in a Psych department or a business department. Any ideas?
Keeping to the topic To keep this thread on topic (i.e. I-O psych + MBA together) I started a new thread to discuss accreditation of I/O psychology degrees, here: http://forums.degreeinfo.com/showthread.php?p=316543
