If you are asking whether Penn Foster will grant college credit for completing one of the certifications from its Career School? No. If you are asking whether another college might consider granting credit for one of the Penn Foster certifications, I'd say maybe, depending on the certification. Some institutions might consider awarding college credit directly, but I think most would require that you include the certification in a portfolio assessment. Pug
I was thinking about trying the Internet Marketing and Business Mangement certificate programs if they were going to give me credits for completing them.
No college credit will be awarded. For that you'll have to enroll in either the AA or BA program. Pug
Hold on a second. If you are talking about the certificate programs, and not the career diplomas, you could receive college credit for them. I have noticed that many of the courses in the certificate programs are the same ones you will find in some of the Penn Foster College degree programs. These courses are reviewed by ACE, which carry college credit. Will you be able to transfer courses from a certificate program to a PFC degree program? I don't know.
Yes, I'm talking about the certificates. On the site it says 3 credits by the course names under the outline of the program(s). I will call them in the morning. My guess is if it's ACE approved, it should count. The course numbers are all the same.
TCord - you are absolutey right. I thought he was referring to the career diplomas. I checked the ACE Guide this morning. Every course in the Business Management certification program has been ACE reviewed for credit with the exception of Business English. Most regionally accredited colleges will accept ACE recommendations. If you transfer the credits to a school that also accepts credit from nationally accredited schools, even the business writing would be accepted. Pug
