As a long time reader, It appears that the most frequently asked question(s) is in regards to "CHEAP" degrees, certificates, units etc. It seems to me that maybe a separate classification and/or forum would be warranted. Maybe a breakdown of schools in cost categories similar to Bear guides for schools would aid those in search of the "cheapest". Just a thought!
As a someone who has learned from Dr. Bear and has great respect for his valuable work, I am not sure I agree with your premise. This forum provide valuble information that could also be put in a book yet we discuss costs, schools and programs. It would be an adjunct to not a replacement of! Again my opinion
Hi humbug - I am also interested in knowig which programs are the cheapest. However, I have also learned that this designation is not a permanent one. Schools change their tuition/fees at will. Any book that listed the cheapest degrees would be inaccurate before it even went to print.
Or we could make a series of threads by degree title with school name, website, degree title, majors/concentrations, tuition, and accreditations, similar to our MEd Sticky, EdD Sticky, and the in-progress MBA Sticky. If we get soooooo many stickies that we fill up the entire first page with stickies, the degree stickies could be moved to a separate corner. Or, as RobertJ of degreeboard once suggested (but he & I never followed through on), have spreadsheets for each possible degree title with school name, website, degree title, majors/concentrations, tuition, and accreditations. Just a thought.
