Hello Everyone, A friend of mine is looking for a Bachelor degree in Information Security as a major. I looked around and I found these....and I recommended him with Colorado Technical University and Ellis College of NYIT. Do you know any other good school off this degree online? Thanks and really appreciate your help. The Bachelor of Science (BS) in Information Technology (Information Assurance and Security) degree offered by Capella University has the advantage of being approved by the DHS and NSA if that is important to your friend. If at all possible, complete the general education requirements at a less expensive school. Afterwards, earning the Master of Science in Information Assurance from Capitol College would be a great complement; the MS(IA) is also approved by the DHS and NSA.
I might be a little bias in my opinion, but I feel that Peirce College is an excellent choice. It offers 6 quarters per year, so you can complete a two year program in 1 year. I'm currently enrolled in their BSIT - Networking, Admin, & Security program and I will be completing it in April '10; just 1 year after enrolling in the college. The college accepted my entire associates degree for 60 credits, plus my certifications as MSCA, CCNA, etc. Happy hunting....
BSIT in Security is also offered and it follows IA 10 subject model that was developed by the NSA & DHS.
