I just finished up my BS in IT at Excelsior. Yeah me! I'm now looking into various DL MBA programs. However, I do not have ANY undergrad business courses. Does anyone have any recommendations? My top 3 items are... 1) pre-reqs? 2) costs? 3) reputation of the program Thanks, Jason
What's about GMAT? Well, the best route is Master of Science in Management before MBA...otherwise at least 6 courses in foundation. I am looking at the same route...but reputation MBA schools requires GMAT.
Penn State has no pre-requisites and enjoys an excellent reputation. Tuition is only $49K and you'll need to do well on the GMAT. There are a number of upper-tier MBA programs that do not have pre-requisite business courses. They instead appear to weed out the riffraff through the GMAT exam. Except for Syracuse, which doesn't even require the GMAT, just an RA undergraduate degree and some experience.
Excelsior College and Western Governors University offer MBAs that do not have prerquisites or GMAT (WGU does have an admissions test). I am sure there are plenty more.
If you're looking for a Management Emphasis in IT, but not necessarily MBA, some have suggested http://www.itmasters.com.au/ent_req.htm especially if you have IT Certifications.
Well, Syracuse requires 54 credits for the MBA, so it is the same as 36 plus foundation courses, or unless they are in the quarter system not semester system.
Charleston Southern University offers online MBA. 1) All pre-reqs can be filled with CLEP and DANTES exams. 2) Costs $230.00 per credit 3) Reputation of the Program: IACBE and RA URL: http://www.csuniv.edu/academics/graduate/graduate_mba.asp
I was teasing as I know cost is a factor for the OP. But it is interesting some of the upper-tier MBAs relax the pre-requisite course requirements in favor of a strong GMAT score. Specifically it appears they are looking for a strong quantitative score.
Affordable MBA's - the list may be a little dated, but still a great starting point... http://www.geteducated.com/rankings/best_mbareg.asp
