I need an extra credit to complete the BA Liberal Studies at TESC. This credit must be in SOCIAL SCIENCE or Liberal General Education. I was told that I can’t use FEMA courses. Any ideas. Thanks.
Take any two from these, and get in shape to boot; http://ce.byu.edu/is/site/courses/description.cfm?subject=138&course=EXSC116Bowling%252C%2520Beginning http://ce.byu.edu/is/site/courses/description.cfm?subject=138&course=EXSC139Jogging http://ce.byu.edu/is/site/courses/description.cfm?subject=138&course=EXSC172Swimming%252C%2520Intermediate http://ce.byu.edu/is/site/courses/description.cfm?subject=138&course=EXSC181Tennis%252C%2520Beginning http://ce.byu.edu/is/site/courses/description.cfm?subject=138&course=EXSC191Weight%2520Training%252C%2520Beginning
The University of Phoenix Online offers a 1-credit hour mathenatics course (MATH401 - History of Mathematics) that you complete in a few weeks.
Here is the information about MTH401 - History of Mathematics offered at University of Phoenix Online.
Are you a certified scuba diver? Many PADI and NAUI courses are ACE reviewed for at least one credit. YMCA has an agreement with a college to offer credit for their courses. You will have to check individual organizations for SSI, NASDS, and others.
Thank you for the replies. The 1 credit that I need it has to be in Social Science or Liberal Studies Electives. Humanities, Social Science, Natural Science. I could use MTH 401 but this course is $ 500 for only one credit. I am looking for 1 credit in Spanish. Thanks.
Are you necessarily looking only for one-credit courses? Or would you countenance the possibility of taking an ordinary three-credit course and graduating with two extra credits?
Great idea for tyhe healtyh, Bruce, but it won't work - TESC has never accepted credit for pure physical education courses.
Adding on to Ted's idea - if a 3 credit course is OK you might want to look at LSU's independent study. I mean for $229 for a 3 credit course...that could be your least expensive option. Shawn
Not necessarily. He could take a single course from Penn Foster College. It's about $53 per credit, plus it is self-paced, so he could work through it as fast as he needs. Just make sure it's one of Penn Foster's ACE-reviewed courses.
Thanks Tcord1964 I found a 1-credit course ENG103 - Information Literacy (1 credit) But I couldn't find the cost of the course. BTW I believe all students are charge a one-time registration fee of $200. Could you please post more info?
Penn Foster College does not advertise the fact that you can take single courses, therefore they do not include prices for single courses on their web site. They would rather have someone register for a degree or diploma program. However, some members of the message board here have taken single courses. You can call the school and ask for their "business development" department, or something like that. Once you get them, tell them you want to register for one course. Some of the enrollment advisors you talk to may tell you that you can't enroll in one course. That is not true. Keep asking for different departments until you find the one that can enroll you. I am currently enrolled in a Penn Foster College degree program, and I did not pay a $200 registration fee. I did have to pay a $25 credit application fee, but that is because I paid my tuition in monthly payments. I doubt you would do that for a single course. I arrived at the per-credit hour charge by dividing my semester tuition by the number of credits I took this semester.
Hi - Check out Clovis Community College. Clovis is an regionally accredited school located in New Mexico. Tuition is just $54/credit. You may enroll as a "non-degree" seeking student. No application fee is required in this case. Registration Info: http://www.clovis.edu/Enrollment/Admissions/admissionpolicies/index.asp Summer '07 Course Schedule: http://www.clovis.edu/Enrollment/ClassSchedules/Summer/BySite.asp?Dept=%25&DE=%25&Site=OnLine&SessionCode=%25 Not sure if there are any 1 credit courses available (in the area you require), but a 3-credit course will only run you $162! Good luck! Tom
Not sure if there are any 1 credit courses available (in the area you require), but a 3-credit course will only run you $162! Thanks for the link - my wife & I homeschool our kids and we are looking for some inexpensive HS options for college credit. Shawn Good luck!
You're welcome! Clovis is just about as cheap as you can get for online RA courses. If there is something less expensive out there please let me know! - Tom
