    Dog Gets High School Diploma

Not sure if this is distance education , but still.....

HOUSTON—What if we told you that your family dog could graduate from school? Not obedience school, but a program that awards high school diplomas. Sound incredible?

    Question Typical incomplete reporting????

I’m certainly not defending these so-called home-schools, but my understanding is the military now requires ALL home-schooled students to successfully complete a full-time semester of college before accepting them. (Somebody will surely correct me if that is wrong.) A semester in college should not be a big problem for the young woman in the video because in Texas community colleges are mostly open enrollment – no high-school diploma required!

Now the dog part: that is just sad!

My dog appeared in the online edition of Backpacker magazine back in 2001. No particular reason for mentioning this; I'm just bragging.

Sounds like Texas needs to do a little more work on their home-school laws.

In Louisiana, home-schooled high school students have to pass the GED to get a diploma.

Alleged diploma mill program traced to Pakistan

    Humm.....

    Stay in school.

It’s the one thing Sherese Gilbert always told her kids. But the irony? She herself was a dropout.

“I didn’t think it was fair that I was preaching it to them and I didn’t honor it myself,” Gilbert said.

But then the time-strapped mom found a solution online—Belford High School—which promised to provide “your gateway to success” with a high school diploma.

“It really looked legit,” Gilbert said.

I still say the family cat should've gotten a diploma too. Cats are smarter than dogs.

Yep! Cats are smarter. Therefore, they do not need diploma!
