I am exploring for a friend the options of getting a high school diploma or GED in California. DL? Diploma vs GED?

    Any thoughts, resources??

    Thanks in advance.

Get yourself a copy of Tom Nixon's _Bears' Guide to Earning High School Diplomas Non-Traditionally_.

Thanks for the plug, Ted. Greatly appreciated.

California is one of the few states that has a better option than the GED (although I find nothing wrong with the GED itself - certainly more difficult to pass than traditional high school, I suspect).

Consider the California High School Proficiency Exam (CHSPE). It is accepted by all sorts of entities that look askance at the GED. The advantage is that it is the legal equivalent of a California high school diploma.

    See: CHSPE

Good. For awhile after posting, I must admit, I scurried around a bit trying to find my own copy of _Bears' Guide to Earning High School Diplomas Non-Tradfitionally_, as I began to wonder whether I had cited the correct Tom as author (as, of course, two different Toms have co-authored works in the Bears' Guide series). Good to see I guessed right.
