American Liberty University is listed at the following website. http://www.libertyuniversity.edu/ They claim to be licensed by the State of Alabama.
Deep scepticism: 1) have been called on carpet for name confusion with legitimate Liberty University in Lynchburg (Falwell's school). 2) use decidedly nonstandard nomenclature and abbreviations (D.A. means "Doctor of Arts", but here it means "Diplomat (sic) in Acupuncture) 3) no legitimate authorizing organization 4) claims in president's message along the usual "lonely pioneer" line. Other things may well be adduced. I have also run into the president, K. H. Soltani, in some other context. I cannot recall what it was or whether it was positive or negative, but am certain it was not in connection with this organization.
No Accreditation The American Liberty University lacks a regional or national accreditation acknowledge by CHEA or The Department of Education. It is interesting that it appears to be set-up like Kennedy Western, and Century Universities as licensed. Century, and American Liberty University claim to be approved by the Commission of Higher Education in the state that they reside. I have not looked into the value or reality of that statement.
And a pop-up announces that they're moving from libertyuniversity.edu to aluniversity.edu . Another .edu domain? How many examples is this, now, of EDUCAUSE asleep at the wheel?

Interesting finds Some interesting finds on Kevin Soltani, President of American Liberty http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&q=Kevin+Soltani
Re: Interesting finds What's so interesting? The overwhelming majority of hits have absolutely nothing to do with the Dr. Soltani affiliated with American Liberty University.
"Jerry Falwell Jr. and Mr. Midlen have also been negotiating, on behalf of Liberty University, with two institutions that have been using Liberty University's name. A school formerly known as Liberty University of California, located in Sacramento, Calif., changed its name to Lexford University of California last month after our Liberty University advised it of its trademark rights. Liberty is still negotiating with a school called American Liberty University, in Montgomery, Ala., which uses the Internet domain names www.libertyuniversity.edu and www.libertyuniversity.com. (Liberty utilizes the site www.liberty.edu.) Our attorneys anticipate the Alabama school will relinquish that domain name to Liberty University in Lynchburg and add a disclaimer to its site and print materials without forcing us to litigate." http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=33197 ALU now has a pop-up stating its URL will be changing and the following disclaimer: "American Liberty University (ALU) is not affiliated with Liberty University, Lynchburg, Virginia" on its website.
For anyone still interested in ALU, here should be a picture of Dr Soltani www.eastendcbc.co.uk/news.html
