Where can you register for a single online class via internet that can be used for college credit and that is low cost. Thanks.
There are many places. In which particular course were you interested? Part of the low cost will depend on your state because most of the low cost alternatives rely on in-state tuition. An exception would be Chemeketa Community College in Oregon which charges everyone the same (AFAIK). Tom Nixon
Gina - students take individual courses at Aspen quite often. Aspen is a DETC accredited school. Some of our students have these credits accepted at regionally accredited schools. I always advise students considering that option to check with the accepting school first, and will work with them if requested. The online independent option allows students to enroll at anytime and be assigned an instructor to work with them for the 6-12 weeks they might take to complete a course. Tuition is $600 per course for graduate work, $450 for undergraduate. Topics are business, information management, project management and education. Best, Mary
And importantly (and Mary is, of course, to humble to mention), the quality of Aspen courses will be every bit as good as regionally accredited schools. Personally, I don't know why they don't consider regional accreditation. They are certainly as "good" a school as Northcentral (which also offers programs in only a few areas). It is an expensive process, though. Tom Nixon
Brigham Young Had a distance education brochure in our library at one time that had lower level classes at reasonable rates.
Hi Tom: Thanks for your nice comments! Regarding regional accreditation, NCA expressly prohibits a school from discussing its intention to seek affiliation until such time as the school has been formally invited by the Commission staff to select a date for an initial evaluation. That invitation can take as long as 18 months from the time a school requests an interview with the Executive Director. While I am aware of schools who ignore that rule, and other rules for that matter, I personally make every effort to be in compliance with all of the various regulations under which we operate! Best, Mary

Re: Re: Single Online Classes Undergrad - Both in upper and lower division (primarily lower division). I am mainly looking for my Husband and Son (see my post "Dr. and Mr. Gina" for more info).
Try Onlinelearning.net. They offer a variety of courses from 3 or 4 different colleges, including University of San Diego and UCLA. My colleagues pay about $475.00 per course.
Nevada independant study Today I recieved a catalog from university of Nevada independant learning. Yopu can enroll in courses with out applying for admission. Courses run just under 100 per credit for undergraduate. www.dce.unr.edu/istudy
