I think that what generally happens is that someone will be attacked, and the moderators (whom all work and have lives outside of this discussion board) will catch it after it has been viewed by many of us and then they will remove it (Kinda drawing the blinds after you have already been undressed).

What are you looking for; an opportunity to retort/fight back?

I think that for the amount of postings, the number of different topics, and the sheer number of current & new members, the moderators are doing a helluva job!

I agree, but why do we have 3 or 4 different threads on the same subject????

We'll be working on combining threads and encouraging more on-topic postings :)

I thought that being a police officer was the ultimate thankless job, until I agreed to be a moderator here. :D

We do the best we can!

My own sad belief is that nothing would more greatly please the promoters of untoward schools, not to mention untoward self-promoters, than to generate a long and pointless debate on the efficacy (or otherwise) of the moderators of this board.

What better strategy for persons who dislike the integrity of this forum than to create ill-will where none exists, second-guessing where none is needed, and cries of "censorship" or "permissiveness" alternating in destructive chorus?

It is not the irresponsible posters, but the responsible ones, who are likely to be taken in by this strategy. The irresponsibles will continue to flood the forum with self-serving departures from fact, while (if this strategy works) the responsible posters and the moderators fall to arguing about politesse with one another.

I want no part of anything likely to harm this forum.

Best wishes to the moderators and the responsible posters, past and present. Your information--and invective--kept me from making some regrettable investments of time and money in "less-than-wonderful" DL programs, and taught me how to avoid being taken in by a charmingly plausible DL fraudster (who, to the best of my knowledge, has never posted on degreeinfo). Foarte dragut din partea dumneavoastra--multumesc foarte mult!

I completely agree with Uncle Janko (as is often the case) and trust that his admirable advice is taken.

I do not know whi the illwishers against degreeinfo are or to whom he and others refer (I must read threads more carefully looking for clues - on second thoughts, that would be what these illwishers intend, so I won't change my habits...).

Keep up the good work all Moderators.

When there's a major unresolved issue, all discussion will tend to gravitate toward that issue - it's a well known group dynamic.

It is really sad indeed the abuse law enforcement officers take. I have a retired police officer in my church and the stories of abuse he relates is simply horrifying. BTW, I appreciate the administrators and moderators of this forum. You have been more than fair to me and, I am sure, others. Thank you.

A lot of people hate authority and, if you're a cop, they'll hate you simply because you are a cop. It's hard to believe, but those kinds of idiots are out there.

I've been off-duty and in a circle of people when someone has to point out that I'm a cop. Then some other idiot will intentionally try to argue with me about a ticket that he got (which he argues was unjustified); and then he'll argumentatively explain to me how all cops are of lower intelligence and how they are all on a power trip.

I usually remain silent when these jackasses begin arguing with me. After all, why should I argue with a stranger?

P.T. Barnum was right: "There's a sucker born every minute."
