I know this may be off the topic a little, but I found this article over at cnn.com about how actual colleges & universites are hiking up tuition costs. This just proves that "some" DL schools are still the more economical route.

For an example, I went to a community college in Columbus, Ohio for 4.5 years, and when I left tuition costs per quarter hour was $62.00 - and that was late 1999. Now they have had to increase their costs up to $70.00 per hour.

I also went to Ohio State, when I left in 2001, a full load (12-15 qtr hrs) cost me around $960.00 per quarter. Now in-state students cannot escape the extreme tuition hike cost of almost $1800 + per quarter for a full load. OUCH!!!!!!!!!!

Take a look at the article:

I thank god I found schools like Excelsior, TESC & COSC.

Exactly! After a BA and a BS (COSC for the first - not sure about the second yet), I will still not have any student loans to pay back (nor will I have tapped into my GI Bill). I have friends who graduated a 3-5 years ago that still have $30,000+ to pay back. In fact, one friend still has $125,000+ to pay back!!!
