Do any of you know of any DL philosophy courses (RA of course)? I'm looking for courses that survey the major philosophers and courses that focus on specific figures (Locke, Kant, Hegel, etc.). Independent Study would be perfect, but I'll take just about anything. Thanks
My favorite program is the one offered by the University of London. I also think there's a program through Eastern Oregon State University and a couple of other places. I can check back in later and give some more references if needed. Jack
I love the UoL's program and I was originally going to do the certificate program through them, but a US based BA in Phil. has won the toss. Thanks for the info on Eastern Oregon State University. They have a couple of classes that are just what I'm looking for. If you have any more sources, please recommend! I want to compare before forking over the $$$. Thanks
BA/Diploma from the London External Programme? http://www.londonexternal.ac.uk/undergraduate/philosophy/index.shtml MA in European Philiosophy at Lampeter? http://www.lampeter.ac.uk/philosophy/EuroPhilMA2.html Angela
Undergrad and individual courses. I'll be finishing my first BA in a couple of months and I want to start on some courses towards my second as soon as possible.
I'm not an expert on transferring credits but I'd be rather surprised if you couldn't transfer credits from the U of L or any of the other non-US schools that are frequently mentioned. In any case, there are philosophy programs at: Christopher Newport U Mary Baldwin College Stephens College St. Mary-of-the-Woods College There are a couple of British schools and a small bunch of Australian schools as well. You may also want to look for individual courses at http://www.icdl.open.ac.uk Good luck Jack
I did a search on Excelsior College's distancelearn database and found dozens of schools that offer philosophy courses. Here's a link so you can also do the search... http://distancelearn.excelsior.edu Cy
