The above appears to be the authentic url for the Liberian Embassy in DC. Interestingly, all inquiries about Liberian documentation, effective 10 June, MUST (their emphasis) go through Vice-Consul William Salley, or "proceed at their own risk." So says CdA Aaron Kollie.

Where's Abdulah K. Dunbar, ubiquitous rep for NBOE, SRU, etc., self-announced sole source for documentary information?

The other site appears to be a fake setup to legitimize SRU and "Robertstown" by posting links to some of the real Liberian colleges. I am also not certain that there is an actual "African Methodist Episcopal University" as well as an actual "African Methodist Episcopal Zion University College." I will investigate this and let you know.

If someone set up a fake Liberian Embassy website, would this not be considered fraud.

Steal $10 from a corner store and you go to jail for years. Steal $1 million and nobody cares. Same old story.

Why wouldn't they use a link to the actual UoL, instead of an alumnus' AOL page about UoL? Hmmmm....

I don't think so. The official and authentic website of Liberian embassy in D.C is here

Interestingly, the US State Department lists ( http://www.liberiaemb.org/ ) as the Liberian embassy website, but when you click on it, it takes you to what appears to be a Liverpool England area (Wirral Pen./Birkenhead) real-estate agent's page.

    http://travel.state.gov/liberia.html

It looks to me like the Liberian Embassy is in a state of flux right now, and may not even be operating any longer. Or if one or more things calling themselves the "Liberian Embassy" are operating, their precise connection to Liberia might be questionable. They may represent rebel groups or be entirely free-lance.

Personally, I favor Ike's version. ( http://www.liberian-connection.com/embassy.htm ) At least this is using the same Washington address that's given on the State Department's consular data sheet.

But if at all possible, I'd want to do my business with them in person and not over the web. It's hard to say who is running some of these websites.

Hi Dr Ike: Just coz part of my family came from around Port Harcourt (involuntarily) doesn't mean I'm totally stupid! You and I have found the same website. I don't know why the urls are different. The statement by Charge d'affaires Aaron Kolley is right there large as life and twice as handsome.

As far as I know, there is only the African Methodist Episcopal Zion University College in Sinkor-Monrovia. I do not know whether or to what extent it is presently functioning. There does not appear to be an AME University as listed on the first "Liberian embassy" page cited in this thread. That subsidiary link goes, not to any college, but to the 5th District of the AME Church (not the 14th, which includes Liberia and other west African countries).
