I was just curious about the highest level of education earned by the people that visit this site.
It seems that this group tends to have a higher level of education than the general population.

If this poll has been done in the past, please let me know.

It has been done, but it's always interesting to see the results.

I added the CAGS/Ed.S. option because someone complained the last time.

MA in Humanities, California State University, Dominguez Hills, 2000. Done by DL in the Humanities External Degree program (HUX).

At this point I have no plans to earn a doctorate, though I will almost certainly continue to take individual classes of various kinds: DL and B&M, accredited and non-accredited, credit and non-credit.

Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study, also known as Educational Specialist (Ed.S.), they're sort of in-between a Master's & Doctorate. You see them a lot with teachers & mental health counselors.

Nova Southeastern University business school (Wayne Huizinga School of Business and Entrepreneurship) now awards CAGS to a DBA candidate who fails to complete his/her dissertation. It's more like a consolation certificate.

  8. What about a first professional degree category for people with real Doctorates? ;)

There is no category for JD's, MD's, etc.

I don't know about the Ed.S equivalency but the CAGS programs that I know of are from Boston University (none are DL) and are all mental health related. Mostly it's seen as a way to develop a specialty credential (while at the same time earning a great number of CEU's.) The standard program is one year long.

I was working hard to complete my BBA and MBA @ AIU.
Then I thought what the heck.

I just completed a PhD @ St. Regis in 10 minutes, only after I finished my MBA @ Amelia.

Figured since I have training and real world experience in warfare and combat what better than to add a Liberian education to my resume:D :D

Wow! I have been gone a long time. I was locked out looking in--unable to post due to a lost password and an e-mail account that the forum software would not register. But now--thanks to a highly skilled and effective administrator--Bruce--and a concerned degreeinfo citizen--Russell--I can post again!

As regards this thread, all I want to say is that I like the C.Phil degree that some University of California campuses give to ABD doctoral students--at least it is a diploma for those that don't finish dissretating. Something like the Ed.S. I suppose.

By the way, I signed up at Vista in South Africa, which is merging with UNISA--at least my campus is--and am finally finishing the Ph.D. in English. Should be a matter of months, as the good people there accepted my previous work, without too much alteration, save reasonable updating.

    Glad to be back!
