University of Phoenix Teaching program

I'm considering UOP for distance MA with Elementary licensure,
does anyone know about this program?
I've heard it's easy, is it? Any information appreciated,

Do a search on the board. Look for postings by Armywife. She is going through the same program with UOP. She has stated that it is very easy.

I don't know how well it will really prepare you for the classroom though. What state are you looking to be licensed in?

I'll be looking for NYState certification eventually.
Right now this seems to be the only option being I'm overseas.
I find it hard to believe that it can be that easy,
sounds like an advertisement to me, but what do I know.
I'm more worried how prepared I'd be for the Praxis exams.

You would first need to check with NY's dept. of edu. If they don't have an agreement to accept licensed teachers from Arizonia, you are out of luck. UOP's program does not apply to every state. (i.e. someone who graduated from UOP licensure program could never work in NC)

As far as Praxis goes, sometimes it depends on how well you take tests. My wife surpassed our state's requirement (elem. edu) the first time. However, she was educated at both Liberty and East Carolina University, plus, I think she is a very good test taker, unlike me.

I took a sample of the test just for fun (elem. edu) and I actually did very well. I felt if was a lot of common sense questions. But I enjoy education so maybe it just came easy to me...??

Best of luck, but make sure you check on all the regulations before you jump into the program. There are a few other schools in other states that may help you reach your goal.
