Excelsior College Application

Hi all!

I am still waiting for the results of my Excelsior College application that I submitted back in early July. All my transcripts were recieved prior to July 23rd, and there is still no evaluation summary available. How long is the process actually to hear from Excelsior? Did I get lost in the shuffle?


Any advice would be helpful.

 

On the Transcript Status page https://www1.excelsior.edu/itweb/servlet/ittrs01, it says: "Note: Your evaluation will be conducted within six to eight weeks after our receipt of your transcript(s)." That is a true statement, so estimate 7 weeks after July 23.

 

I guess I did count the weeks.



However, some other members report a faster response time than that, that is one of the reasons I asked.:

Why would it take that long? I've never heard of such a lengthy wait for an evaluation. The longest I ever waited was three weeks. This just seems excessive. Well, here's hoping you'll get a response this week. Of course, if it was impatient me, I'd have been on the phone bugging them.

 

I have just received my official evaluation/degreeplan from Troy State days ago and they received all my transcripts late May. I don't think it's the actual evaluation that takes long, I think it's the process an evaluation goes through. First, it goes to this office for admissions clearance or something (to find out wether you will be a conditional or unconditional student based on your transfer GPA). Next, it moves to another office and waits there for a week until the person has time to evaluate (because he/she is doing 50 gajillion other students evals). He/she finally gets to yours and evaluates all your transcripts.. It probably goes to a lot of different people before it is finally compiled and given to you.
