Has anyone on this bb gone through Rio's teacher program? They now offer an online teacher program in partnership with COSC. I was wondering if the program is accepted in NJ? I did call the NJDOE and am waiting to hear but I thought I would ask here as well. It seems that Rio has teamed up with COSC to offer degrees that would satisfy certification requirements. I'm just not sure that reciprocity is available for NJ students. Here is a link http://www.rio.maricopa.edu/ci/visitors_center/education/baccPartner/main.shtml mll
If you give them a call, Rio Salado will happily provide you with a list of the twenty(ish) states with which they have reciprocity. Also, the list used to be on their website. A truly unique program, but also a view of what will soon come in other places. National University also offers their entire credential program online, with, of course, the exception of the student teaching. As with Rio Salado, you have to do the student teaching in a classroom full of kids. Tom Nixon
