I have been doing a lot of research on the Internet. It appears that NCU has the least expensive Ph.D. (in psychology) program. I would love some feedback about NCU. Do you feel that it has a worthwhile degree? It would be great to hear from people that are in the program or have completed their doctorate there. How helpful are the mentors? Do other Ph.D.'s think that your diploma is inferior because you got it online? Also, those of you who have gone to NCU....did you find that they accepted all your credits from your masters degree? Thanks for any input. Dar

I am a MBA student at NCU. Faculty interaction is very minimal. Its a self-learning/reading MBA.

IMO, an online RA PhD is best for working professionals who, for various reasons, cannot quit their jobs to attend traditional doctoral programs.

manjuap: Is there a project or research paper for each course? If so, how many pages? What is the format to the course exam?

In one of the courses i have taken.. you just need to answer couple of review questions at the end of each chapter. Thats it !!

The other course has about 10~12 assignments and a simple project.

Overall a 9th grader can easily complete this program.

Good. I'll fit right in. :D

I got a B&M MA degree from the state university and I also found some easy classes that a 9th grader could complete.

Just enjoy the easy ones when they come because there are probably some hard ones right around the corner. ;)

For feedback go to the NCU website and go to embassador tab, there will be a list of graduates with PhD, I wrote to ten of them and all gave good feedback, I suggest you do the same!

    Hope this help!

    NCU

I just enrolled in the Psych PhD program, after lots of research.
So far I've received at least half a dozen emails, and the course doesn't start till next week. I spoke by phone with admissions and my advisor, both were very cordial and informative. My email questions were answered within 24 hours. They are also sending a welcome letter and info by snail mail. My first course requires short critiques, reviews, etc. and a final, more comprehensive report and the end of the course. I was told I could get through it in 8 weeks, although 16 are allotted. You can enroll in the next course as soon as you complete one, accelerating the program as
needed. The course outline and rubric were clear and concise.
My only complaint is my usual one, with alot of whine-"do I really have to buy all these @#$%$# textbooks?"
I'd recommend NCU IF you prefer to work alone at your own pace, and don't want to be involved in group projects and such. They do provide some discussion with classmates, but unlike some other DL programs, this is not the emphasis.
