OK, I've been researching the web for the past 6 hours about regionally accredited schools that are offering a degree in Management Information Systems online.

This is NOT my final list. I know I overlooked a school or two. Right now, I am only interested in knowing which schools below has the best program:

    Baker College
    Bellevue University
    Excelsior College
    Indiana Wesleyan University
    Liberty University
    Limestone College
    Minot State University
    Park University
    Saint Leo University
University of Maryland - University College
    Buena Vista University
    Waubonsee Community College

I thought UMUC was going to be my choice until I read the many not-so-encouraging posts here about UMUC (particularly David Williams' experience with the school).

Guess I'm back to square 1 again...

Baker I know very little about, but I remember thinking that they have a nice range of programs.

Bellevue is probably one of the most positively reviewed programs I've ever run across, and I remember being impressed with their programs in MIS and e-commerce.

Excelsior is, of course, my alma mater.

Indiana Wesleyan I'm not terribly familiar with.

Liberty University (Jerry Falwell's school) offers some excellent programs, but I can't remember whether or not external students are required to sign their covenant and/or statement of principles.

I'm not familiar with Limestone or Minot State.

I vaguely remember having a positive impression of Park University's online business programs.

I have heard good things about Saint Leo, a Jesuit institution with a serious commitment to online degree programs.

I've heard mixed reviews of UMUC, but they're a state university with a strong faculty and a solid history in the distance learning field.

Buena Vista and Waubonsee I'm mostly unfamiliar with.

This isn't likely to be much help, but I trust someone will disagree with one or more of my opinions and thereby start a productive discussion of these schools.

    Good luck!

    Cheers,

Tom, good comments. I have one and a minor correction.

I lived for several years within 30 miles of Marion, Indiana, where the main campus for Indiana Wesleyan is located and I've known a student or two that went there. IN Wesleyan has a good reputation among its students, but it certainly does not compare to IU or Purdue, both of which have branch campuses all over the state and pretty much dominate the area. I also lived in Bloomington, Illinois, home of Illinois Wesleyan. IL Wesleyan has a highly respected academic reputation in the area, often said to be among the best, even with Illinois State University, an 850 acre university with a student population of 20,000+ located less than 3/4 of a mile away on the same street. Unfortunately, IL Wesleyan does not offer distance degrees.

There are 28 Jesuit Universities and Colleges in the US, but Saint Leo is not one of them. Saint Leo was founded by the Benedictine order.

    Hi,
I recently graduated from Limestone College, the majority of the majors are Education, Business, and Computer sciences with about twenty others majors running in second place. I knew many students who completed their 120 hrs. completely on line.
The professor, Oscar Vasquez, whom we called Dr. V, is a great guy! He teaches about 30-50 % of the computer Sciences in both campus and online class formats. I understand the M.I.S. program is very good!
The college has been around since 1845 and is located in upstate South Carolina, RA, and will land you in a good grad school should you desire more stress! Personally, I did a combination of online and campus classes and gained entrance to a decent grad school for more self inflicted misery. I have no regrets about picking Limestone and would recommend it to anyone!
    Best,
    Gavin
