I'm back, and finishing my search for the easiest, least expensive Masters Degree in Education. I have narrowed a huge list down to these top two choices: The Univ. of South Australia is offering a 4 course Masters Degree in Education (Educational Computing) that can be completed in one year for only $4000!!!? (Thank you Lawrie Miller: www.bain4weeks.com) Does anyone have ANY exprience with this school? Is it accredited?

My second choice is Excelsior College. It's not as cheap, but because they are the most liberal colege at accepting transfer credit, after waiving 15 credits, the cost drops to approx. $6000. Not bad, huh! I have talked with an Excelsior professor, and it appears there is a lot of reading and writing papers, but no tests. Does anyone have any experience with Excelsior? Thanks in advance to those who will take the time to provide meaningful feedback.

PS: Can we stick to the subject this time?!

I don't think you can go wrong with either choice. Just keep in mind that the "4 courses" for U of South Australia are going to be much more in-depth and time consuming than courses as US students think of them.

You might also want to check out Penn State, they offer the M.Ed. in Adult Education and also in Curriculum & Instruction. Not the cheapest, but very reasonable, and hard to beat the pedigree.

While I do not know much about it Troy State has an online M. Ed in instructional technology 10 courses. You may have to call about the price. Any reason why you changed your mind on Uop, and AIU?

The Univ. of Phoenix (UOP) would not grant me any transfer credits. The cost was nearly 14K, and the program would take approx. 2 years...all negatives to me. Many people said the courses were fairly easy, however.

AIU can be done in 10 months, however, everyone says it is a lot of work jammed in to a small time frame. Most importantly, the price is 18K, so that college was out of the running quick.

    Hope this helps.

i have got a response from university of australia that the Med program with GUA is still pending. but u can still do it with them direct via distance learning.

however the price is AUD12k and not USD4k.

Check out this Fort Hayes State. This may be the lowest graduate tuition out there. It is 31 hours, and priced at $150 per hour. Bao had mentioned it in another thread. The program has a concentration in instructional technology.

Thanks for your help Scott. I seriously looked at Fort Hayes State. You are right, they are about as reasonable as you can get...$4650 plus another grand for books. However, they would not accept any transfer credit of mine because all of my classes were done more than 5 years ago. Also, the Masters is in Liberal Studies (a little boring for me) and the program takes about 2 years to complete. I'm looking to finish in roughly one year. I've had a few responses and emails vouch for the credibility of the Univ. of South Australia. I'm trying to get emails through to them right now to verify the 4 course masters degree in educational computing...a degree concentration I prefer. A "Dr. Wing Au" from S. Australia Univ. sent me an email earlier this week, but did not answer all of my questions. Hopefully a second email from him/her? will close the deal for me. Dr. Au said they have 10,000 international students at the Univ. of South Australia, so they must doing something right down under.
