Hi, I bacome very interested into distance learning. I have full time job and can't attend regular school. Also I'm in eastern europe so my wish is to get some west europe or US degree. I see that for bachelor degree most universities require some previous college and credits in order to be admited. I have none of those, but I do have 5 years of working experience. So far I found two interesting sites: www.iwuonline.com www.canyoncollege.edu They're not very expensive. If anyone has some advices for foreign students with no previous college experience please let me know. Thanks
Hello. Depending on where you are in Eastern Europe, you would want to kill me or you are somehow related to me. . For God's sake stay away from Canyon College. Search this site to see why (some of it is really funny--look for Levicoff's letter to the owner of Canyon College). Indiana Wesleyan is OK, but there are many many other options. I would urge you to order a copy of Bears' Guide and consult the general articles on this site. What field of study interests you? We might be related, but I don't plan on killing you I'm from Bosnia. Thanks for the info, seems that Canyon is not an option at all. I just started researching this yesterday. I'll look into Bears guide, but I hate that I have to wait probably a month to receive it. My interest is business management or something similar (like international business). Like I said seems to me that my biggest problem is that I don't have any previous college credits. And of course that I probably won't be able to spend more than $15000 in total. Thanks

Programs that require prior creidt are called degree completion programs, for the many who have started college but never finished. There are many programs where you can get a starrt relatively inexpensively. Try Rio Salada for one.

Take a look at the University of London's various business degree options. But as stated by Janko, Bears' guide is your best resource. Business degrees by distance learning are numerous in the United States.
Thank you all for help. I'm going to order Bears guide on amazon, and while I'm waiting for it I'll look for more info online. Many sites have different designs and show different kind of data, so for me it's pretty hard to understand everything since I come from a country with totaly different grading system. Also now I see that most colleges ask you to get associate degree and then go for bachelor degree. But hopefully soon I'll be able to find good online school, and hopefully earn my diploma . Rio Salado looks good for a start, while I'm not 100 % sure what BA (Hons) degree really means? If anyone can explain I will be thankfull.

Most colleges and universities in the US do not require you to earn an associate degree before working on a bachelor's degree. They do, however, require about 60 units in "general education", comprised of science, social sciences, history, arts and literature, and math. The exact requirements vary greatly from school to school. Most US schools work on a semester system, which means that the 9 to 10 month school year is divided into 2 semesters. A one semester course is usually valued at 3 units, which means that the 60 units of general education is comprised of about 30 semester courses.
