My undergraduate alma mater (MIchigan Tech) ) has an interesting DL option. A BS in a cohort aggrangment of 5 or more. They handle the basic lab by requiring you to have the course before you enroll (probably at local jc).
The PhD program is intersting, especially the residency (3 - 6 months, but reverese!
So you just hired a college professor for 3-6 months, interesting, but pricey (doesn't say but I think I know who picks up the tab).A key element of any student's Ph.D. program is the direct interaction between the student and advisor. To facilitate student-faculty interaction, it is anticpated that the MTU faculty advisor will spend three to six months in residence at the student's employer, advising and directing the doctoral student's research.
