For anyone that might be interested. Regarding the GPA issue, at least for their graduate programs, I first contacted Vermont College's admissions department again and was told that, if necessary, a faculty member could "translate" each course into a letter grade. I was also advised to contact the graduate programs department and ask for a list of students who went on to post-grad schools. I then contacted the department directly and was told that they did NOT assign grades since its understood in the academic world that almost all graduate programs require a minimum 3.0 to stay in it. So, a "pass" would automatically assume at least that. However, they said they could translate courses into grades for tuition assistance purposes (what's the difference???)

When asked about making any former student contacts, I was advised that they didn't maintain such a list. Is this a standard practice? In the interest of privacy, I certainly understand this. However, it seems to me that what you learn by word of mouth carries a bit more weight than any other, so contact with former students should be obtainable at some level. Anyway, just thought I'd share what I've learned.

    Regards

    Kevan
