    Independent Study Program

    Hi Guys:

It was my intent to post the following info weeks ago, sorry guys:D

The Louisiana State University's Office of Independent Study offers courses taught by LSU faculty members.

I'm completing an English Lit course via LSUIS, and couldn't fit a daytime Lit requirement into my schedule. While there are evening Lit classes available, I prefer to spend that time with my kids.

Here's the contact information for LSUIS:

    Office of Independent Study
    LSU
    Baton Rouge, LA 70803-1508
    phone 225-578-3171
    800-234-5046
    fax 225-578-3090
    email: [email protected]
    website: www.lsu.edu.edu

Frankly, unless you live driving distance from LSU,waiting for the hard copy of the bulletin isn't worth the wait.

I notice you graduate from Unv. of LA at Lafayett

I am thinking about attending the same university. However, I am worried about how I would be able to keep up with my classes. Since, I cannot attend any class on campus, I need away to do them completely online and still graduate from the university. I have arranged to speak to them about my situation. When I saw your post, I thought to ask you how you finished your degree with them?

Let me start by saying that I was able to attend classes full-time, and that the LSUIS option is one I explored to meet my degree Lit requirement; I'm considering an Intro to Accounting course.

The LSUIS program is a great independent study option to complete coursework in areas that are available on ULL's campus but don't fit your work schedule, and ULL is one of the listed proctored exam sites for LSUIS.

Always secure approval from your department's dean prior to enrolling for a specific class. The ULL Industrial Technology Department/College of Engineering will not accept engineering correspondence or distance learning coursework toward any of its degree programs. This is actually listed in the undergraduate catalog. The LSUIS application requires the dean's signature to go forward in the application process.

There is a limit on external transfer credits for each program, and varies from college to college. In most cases 12 is the MAX. I can't honestly say I know of any ULL program's that can be would accomodate a total online approach.
