This settles it - Henley's DBA is AACSB. "As far as the Henley DBA is concerned, we were made aware quite early in the AACSB accreditation process that the fact that our research degrees were awarded by Brunel University had caused some initial confusion within AACSB. We had thought that this confusion had been dispelled as a result of i) the fact-finding visit made by Dean David Shrock in Sept 2000 and ii) the visit of the Review Team in Oct 2001, when we provided detailed information about our doctoral programmes and our successful track record over more than 25 years. As you may be aware, the College was specifically commended for its DBA programme by the Review Team. We did inform AACSB that we were seeking research degree awarding powers (RDAPs) but clearly accreditation of our doctoral programmes was not made contingent upon our getting those powers. In answer to your question, our application for RDAPs is still ongoing, having taken much longer than we had originally anticipated. We hope and expect that we will be successful sometime within the next 12 months. We would appreciate it if you would kindly make it clear to all AACSB colleagues that our doctoral programmes, whether they lead to a Brunel degree or an Henley Management College degree, are indeed accredited by AACSB."
Kristie7: Great!! It sounds like you got the answer you needed. Now you can get that DBA underway!! Duff
Kristie7 Great news and confirms what I had been told informally and unofficially from my sources within Henley. Of course, there is a long way to go but you can start now with confidence. Go for it. Kindest regards and bon chance. Prof. Kenendy (EBS)
Re: Re: Heney letter - is AACSB This letter actually was in part to AACSB..... "We would appreciate it if you would kindly make it clear to all AACSB colleagues that our doctoral programmes, whether they lead to a Brunel degree or an Henley Management College degree, are indeed accredited by AACSB". I think this referred to me being told (and the e-mail I forwarded to Henley) stating it is not an AACSB degree. I have re-emailed the person who gave me the mis-information, but I can't seem to get a response now in writing. I may call by the end of the week.
If Henley Management College's programs are accredited by the AACSB, then should this not be indicated on their web site? When I checked the webiste Henley was listed as accredited in business. Where's the confusion?
since Henley only offers business and mangement courses it comes under the AACSB's Business accrditation and the accounting. Which is where itis listed in the AACSB site. Henley lists the accreditation on there site also. But UK programmes do not publicize accredtitationas much as US programs do.
It is on the home page, lower left corner has the AACSB logo, and on their accreditation page. The only confusion I had is the DBA is awarded from Brunnell, which is not AACSB, though the transcript comes from Henley, since all work is done via Henley.
Go to the fees pdf... http://hmcweb.henleymc.ac.uk/henleymc02.nsf/files/DBAFees03.pdf/$FILE/DBAFees03.pdf They still talk about additional Brunel University Exam Fees in addition to the regular Henley fees.
