Keller/DeVry University says their accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association.

Is that different then being simply accredited by NCA.

Does this still mean their a RA school?

Please help - I am currently a student.

    Hi, Felicia.

Don't worry. 'The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association' is one of the six regional accreditors.

The US Dept of Education verifies that here:

    http://www.ed.gov/offices/OPE/accreditation/regionalagencies.html

But thanks for bringing this to our attention. It seems that the North Central Association has been going through some reorganization, with the association part spinning off its secondary and higher education accreditation commissions into separately incorporated status. I don't know how autonomous the new NCA Higher Learning Commission will be from the rump of the old organization. But I guess that this will enable it to concentrate exclusively on higher education accreditation issues.

BTW, I verified that Keller/DeVry is indeed listed on the NCA Higher Learning Commission website as being regionally accredited. So while this reorganization at the NCA is interesting, it doesn't impact Keller/DeVry any more than the University of Chicago, or any other school in the NCA territory.
