A poster on alt.education.distance asked about computer degrees, specifically those of Phoenix, Maryland, and ACCIS (formerly AICS). I suggested there that regional accreditation (Phoenix, Maryland) had a significantly higher acceptance rate in academia than national (DETC) accreditation. Comparable information on acceptance in the business world will have to await completion of Rich Douglas' dissertation research. There are many other distance degrees in computer fields. 100 of the best are described in the brand new (published 2 days ago) Bears' Guide to the Best Computer Degrees by Distance Learning; principal author is Larry McQueary, with a major assist from Tom Head, both of whom post to this forum. I have posted a reply to the original question in alt.education.distance, giving a much less concise version of John's answer Larry
