If you mean the one in South Africa, it is a merger of the "old" North West with Potchefstroom. Potchefstroom is the academically stronger of the two merging institutions.

BoogieRambler, Please review this information from the "school's" accreditor. Not a good sign. "Governance The executive committee governs AGC and makes accreditation decisions on the recommendation of commissioners. Commissioners are experienced postsecondary educators and have been faculty members, administrators, and owners of institutions. Commissioners are elected by the Constituent Council, which comprises representatives of accredited institutions. Three public members, appointed by the Commission, also serve. Executive Committee J K Williams, Dr. President Steve Brookstein, Secretary Dr. Richard Hoyer, Chief Accrediting Commissioner Commissioners James Cusack, University of NorthWest Thomas Carper, Saint Regis University Irene Fernández, Bircham International University Ansir Rajput, College of E-Commerce, USA Dr. Greg Wilson, University of Northern Washington Joe Hind, Business Executive Lucy Haines, Business Executive Michael Ley, Social Worker " http://www.agc-usa.org/accreditation.html#1
Thank you for this, Charles. I haven't seen so many dreadful schools together in the same place since the last meeting of the Worl . . . . . . . . Dr. Bear was carried off by the lawyers for DegreeInfo.com before he could complete his sentence.
A Goodfellas University... Their mailing address is in an office building in downtown Brooklyn, a few blocks away fron the federal court building and the NYC Department of Education. Before they revamped their website, their office was in Howard Beach, NY; a few blocks away from where John Gotti once lived.
hi, well if NorthWest is a Bogus institute why do i see that there are lots of distance education institutes doing their courses? I wanted to know how Universities of this sort (20 day degree), are accepted in Countries other than the US,UK or Australia? Out of curiosity, are there any Genuine Fast and Cheap Degree providers?
I would double check these "distance institutions". NorthWest is not properly accredited, and it is connected to SRU and it's partners, hence my opinion would be it is a mill.
UNW Refund Policy Charles, A Master's/PhD Fast Track option for *$700.00? A Doctorate Fast Track option for *$500.00? The refund policy appears to be in line with the Tony Soprano School of Management: "Refund Policy: Deposits paid to the University are not refunded. Fees paid will only be refunded in very exceptional circumstances and with the approval of the Registrar " * fees for developing countries No direct --or for that matter indirect-- email address is listed to contact the registrar is listed on their website. Implementing policy certainly isn't an exact science, but thats a little too much wiggle room. BoogieRambler
Oh. Hoyer again. For clarity's sake--this is not the South African school. With all due respect to the real UNW (no more and no less), usually the name rip-off stunt involves high-level schools: Stamford, Cormell, etc., etc. Unless this is supposed to be a knock-off of Northwestern, playing to the no-spicketa market, it seems a bit lame to ape the name of a fairly low-level (but totally legitimate and fully accredited) SA university.
