It has been a while since I have posted on this board. However, I have been following the discussions in this forum. Anyways, I was hoping to get an insight into the following: What is better - Specialize in a concentration like E-commerce, or IT management etc or take electives from different topics and not specialize in any one concentration. My work experience is in the IT industry and I am currently doing my MBA from TUI. Yes, I know it all depends upon what I need to do and what my objectives are etc etc. My question is, if it was your decision, what would you do and why?. Let the debate begin. Thanks jarin
Jarin- I asked this question a while ago. Basically the response I remember is that if you specialize people will think that you do not have a broad scope. I too wanted to have a specalization in e- commerce, or strategic leadership. How are your classes going, I am going to be apply soon to start in December. Good Luck
If I were in your situation, I think I would take something other than ITM. You've already proven yourself in that area. Now, try to expand your experience. Show that you can do something else. Gary
I am also in IT field. I chose ITM Concentration. While I do not disagree with Gary... In my case, I always wanted to be in IT. I surely depends on your objective... MFH MBA Final Semester Touro
Just to clarify...I'm not in the ITM field, but I chose that as my concentration to "round out" my resume'. G
I was just pondering this very thing. I am in my last quarter at AIU for my Bachelors in Information Technology(two classes left). I was looking into Touro to complete a Master but was torn between an MBA with an ITM concentration or their MS in ITM. But I was interested in the views of other members here. I'm alittle irritated that I'll have to take acouple of Business courses before beginning the program but hey, what can you do? I was in the Navy for 10 years and received my honorable last year. My background includes both IT and Military Law Enforcement. Would it be better to venture into a MBA with a Criminal Justice concentration to accent my Bachelors in IT? Would it be possible to have a MBA with a dual concentration in Criminal Justice and IT Management from Touro?
